City Under Siege Exhibition
A small exhibition in Willis's Magazine telling the story of Gibraltar's civilian and military population under the Great Siege — including 18th-century graffiti the soldiers left on the walls.
The buildings went up immediately after the 1704 capture and were used as stores and quarters. What survives inside is more human than a museum usually manages: names, dates and regiments scratched into plaster by men who had nothing else to do while under bombardment.
It is a fifteen-minute stop and it works best right before or after the Siege Tunnels — same siege, told from the ground rather than from the gun ports.
