Skywalk
Gibraltar's most photographed platform: a glass walkway bolted to the crest of the Rock, higher than the Shard's viewing gallery and open to the sky.
The Skywalk sits on a wartime gun position, which is why the views run the full circle: Spain to the north, the Strait and Africa to the south, the bay and the airport runway to the west. The floor is glass, laminated and rated far beyond anything a nervous visitor can do to it.
Getting your feet onto the middle panel takes most people two attempts. Nobody minds; the macaques who use the handrail as a walkway certainly don't.
Our tip
Wind on the crest is stronger than in town. Hats and loose hoods have a habit of ending up in the nature reserve.
